Bottletop Filter

Bottletop filters are convenient, laboratory devices designed to facilitate the sterile filtration of liquids directly into storage bottles. These filters consist of a filter unit attached to the top of a bottle, streamlining the process of filtering and dispensing solutions in one step. They are commonly used in scientific research, especially in microbiology, cell culture, and analytical chemistry, to purify or sterilize media, buffers, and other aqueous solutions.

The primary components of a bottletop filter include a membrane filter and a funnel-like reservoir, which is available in various capacities to accommodate different volumes of liquid. The membranes used are typically made from materials such as polyethersulfone, nylon, or cellulose acetate, chosen for their compatibility with different solvents and their ability to provide high throughput with low protein binding.
